Shipping & Delivery

We take great care in creating our products and want to ensure you receive them in the freshest, most delicious condition. Because chocolate is sensitive to heat, we also take great care when shipping and delivering our products. Please refer to the following guidelines and to our FAQs page to determine the best shipping method for your package.

Shipping

Please keep in mind that chocolate begins to melt at 70 degrees. While there are many things we do to mitigate the risk of shipping fresh confections and cookies around the country, there are unfortunately some things outside of our control like the weather and transit delays once the package is in the hands of FedEx, UPS or USPS. As such, the shipping guidelines published on this website are not guarantees of a shipping or arrival date.

When shipping, we check the weather to determine the appropriate shipping method. We make every effort to ship your package the most economical way possible that will result in you receiving your chocolate in great condition. The shipping prices quoted at time of order may need to be adjusted to account for the weather. If that happens, we will call or email you immediately to discuss shipping options.

Order by 12 Noon PST for your order to ship next business day.

Packages that require cooling materials or have longer transit times may be held until the following Monday. Ice packs & insulated totes (when needed) ~ are at NO EXTRA CHARGE.

Unattended Packages

If your recipient is not home, our carriers will leave your package on the doorstep. Please keep in mind that bad things can happen to an unattended package. We recommend shipping to an address where someone can sign for and/or receive your package.

Northwest Expressions is unable to guarantee time of delivery, as this is all controlled by the local carrier. Most carriers will deliver packages anytime between 8am-8pm. If you are placing an order for a time-sensitive event, we recommend placing your order early and schedule it to arrive 1-2 days before your event. A majority of our products can be packaged with ice packs to preserve freshness. In some instances due to weather, high package volume (especially during holidays) or other uncontrollable events, we may have your product arrive earlier than requested to ensure that it arrives in good condition.

Northwest Expressions is not responsible for delays in transit caused by high package volume, weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disasters, terrorism safety control, local carrier mis-scans or inaccurate/incomplete shipping information, and we do not require a signature for the release of any shipment. Leaving a package at an address is ultimately up to the complete discretion of the individual delivery person and is therefore entirely outside our control.

Northwest Expressions does not require a signature for the delivery of most of its packages. Northwest Expressions is not responsible for packages that require a signature but are not delivered because no one is home to sign.

Temperatures Over 70 Degrees

Chocolate starts to melt at 70 degrees F. When the ship-to destination has the potential to be in the 70’s or higher, your options for shipping will be limited to one or two-day service to ensure the integrity of the chocolate.

Temperatures Over 90 Degrees

When temperatures have reached 90 degrees F or higher at the ship-to destination, your option will be restricted to one day service.

International

Unfortunately, we do not ship internationally at this time.

Lost or Stolen Packages Packages

Northwest Expressions is not responsible for lost or stolen packages confirmed to be delivered to the address entered for an order. Upon inquiry, we will confirm delivery to the provided address, date of delivery, tracking information and shipping carrier information for the customer to investigate.

Incorrect Shipping Info

During the fulfillment process, we do our best to contact you if we happen across an “undeliverable address.” We define an “undeliverable address” as one that is not recognized by the UPS shipping system, and therefore would not be delivered by UPS upon reaching the location. However, Northwest Expressions is not responsible for incorrect shipping information provided by the customer. As a result, if an undeliverable address or inaccurate shipping information is provided by the customer, Northwest Expressions is not responsible for the unreceived item.

Customers are responsible for checking that all shipping information is correct before submitting an order as well as in their order confirmation email. If you need to modify the delivery address once your order has shipped, a $20.00 address change processing fee will apply to your order. Once an address modification is requested, carriers require one business day to process the change, which may delay the package. Northwest Expressions is not responsible for delays in transit caused by address modification. All packages shipped via UPS or FedEx cannot ship to P.O. Box addresses.

If UPS is unable to deliver an order based on inaccurate information provided by the customer, the package is disposed of by UPS. In the instance that the customer would like the package to be redelivered, they must place a new order.

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK ALL SHIPPING INFORMATION PROVIDED to ensure there are no typos or inaccuracies in the shipping information to avoid the disposal of your order in the instance it is undeliverable. Note: P.O. Boxes and APO Boxes are not acceptable shipping addresses and therefore are not recognized by UPS to deliver to.

There are no returns, refunds or cancellations allowed on any orders that have shipped.
